Mr. James Murphy is a consultant cosmetic plastic surgeon with an established private practice serving patients all over Manchester and beyond. He is based at the Spire Hospital Manchester in Whalley Range, and is also a NHS consultant at the Didsbury, Manchester Christie Hospital.
In 1992, Mr. Murphy completed his education and began training for a surgical career. By 1996, he had completed a fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons in England. His training in plastic surgery took Mr. Murphy to many locations including: Oxford, Australia, the United States, and London. His research at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Buckinghamshire resulted in his earned a Master of Surgery post-graduate degree. In 2002, he was given the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic surgery.
Mr Murphy is listed on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council for plastic surgery. He enjoys full memberships of both the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He utilizes his vast expertise at Christie Hospital, Manchester as a plastic surgery consultant as part of his role in the NHS.
Mr. Murphy has authored and published extensively throughout his career. His many articles on the plastic surgery field have been well received and have given him the opportunity to also present his work internationally by attending and speaking at plastic surgery conferences. Mr. Murphy is very actively involved in teaching about his field at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is highly qualified and is fully accredited by all of the major medical boards.
Mr. Murphy has been successfully operating as a plastic and cosmetic surgeon for more than ten years. He is a fully qualified doctor capable of performing the most difficult procedures in the field of plastic surgery. Mr. Murphy's relationship with his patients begins with pre-operative discussions of the cosmetic surgery procedure. It is at this time that he will discuss the risks, the patient's desired results, and what can be expected during the process of recovery. Mr. Murphy takes an extremely ethical approach to surgery, discussing all the possible risks and outcomes. He will give patients his unbiased opinion where their physical realities are concerned.
